Malcolm Reference 3

And not before time either.

Alongside inking FBOCT pages, I've been working on this update. I couldn't stand to look at the one I did last year (April?), and I thought it was high time I made Malcolm's design changes official. So here you go; a refsheet bursting to the seams with just about everything you need to know about Malcolm and his species. _{His hair is still a mystery though. Is it brown? Is it blonde? He's not so sure of that himself...}

<sub>Design edits: 

- So that shirt he wears has 3/4 length sleeves, and like the lower half of it, he wraps the bandages over it, rather than under it like he used to.

- His coat buttons have been realigned to keep in tandem with the way he wears it done up. The right-hand side extends pretty much the whole way across the shoulder, and the left-hand side he tucks in underneath.

- The coat looks thicker and a bit tattier than it used to.

- His hair is now thick wavy/curly brown-blonde, and sweeps over his face rather than sticking up everywhere in messy clumps.

- Where'd the headband go? Seems he's lost his habit of tying back his hair, but keeps the bandana in his trouser pocket just in case.</sub>

EDIT: Added a few more snippets about his personality and the fact that he ticks. I sometimes forget these things.

Additional info:

- English accent (think Sussex, Surrey or Greater London)
- Fairly broad vocabulary, quite articulate.
- Intelligent, crafty, resourceful and light-fingered. Good at making do with what he has. If he hasn't got anything, he'll make do with what somebody else has.
- The coat is the only thing he legally owns. The rest is stolen goods.
- Personality presents aspects of the dark tetrad (narcissism, psychopathy, Machiavellianism (manipulation), and sadism)
- Friendly and charming to all he meets. Despite this affability, he'll be assessing you constantly on your usefulness, either as somebody to chuck under a bus if the time calls for it, or someone to squeeze information from.
- If you do happen to get into his good books, you'd better watch your step around him. No matter how affectionate or cuddly he might get (and he loves to cuddle), if you say or do something that makes him doubt your commitment to him, things can turn ugly very quickly.
- Where other clockwork constructs may look down on artificial intelligence, Malcolm doesn't really mind them, so long as they aren't slave-like drones.
- Genderless, (constructs don't understand the concept of gender), but goes by Mr. and he/him pronouns.
- Sexless(?). Yep, all constructs, whatever their size, shape or heartbeat, are all the same sex.
- Can't grow hair, facial, bodily, or otherwise. The hair on his head doesn't get any longer.
- Good at making makeshift homes. Sleeping in an actual bed is somewhat of a privilege for humans, and most times, he's only been allowed to sleep on the floor or outside.
- Likes a good challenge, but isn't an idiot.
- Sore loser. Expect cheating if things aren't going his way, (though he doesn't tend to put himself in positions where he thinks he'll outright lose.)
- Addresses strangers with titles and honourifics like "Sir", "Mister", "Miss", "Madam". If pronouncing "Mx." he'll say "Mux" instead of "Mix".
- Has a reasonably high pain tolerance.
- Has only ever used his screech once. He hated it so much, he swore never to use it again.
- Can't drive.
- Doesn't need to eat "real" food, but can in very small amounts.
- Because of their half-wake states, constructs very rarely experience trauma-caused psychological disorders.
